This is a great tool for collaboration, resource sharing, and coordinated advocacy to move Georgia into a renewable energy future.
The BeltLine, a 22-mile loop of historic railroad that encircles downtown and midtown, is a unique opportunity to increase greenspace, improve transit, connect neighborhoods and foster livable communities.
GSEA is working with the Friends of the BeltLine in an effort to obtain solar lighting for the 5.4 miles of path being created alongside the light rail transit system. We are also exploring ways in which the city of Atlanta can power as much light rail as possible from renewable energy resources. We also plan to be involved with greening the homes and retail spaces to be constructed as part of the BeltLine development program.
GSEA recognizes education is the fundamental component in furthering the success of renewable energy in the state. To that end we seek to increase understanding and use of renewable technologies through training, networking and providing free technical assistance to the public.
GSEA assists Southface in maintaining their Solar Road Map, a website devoted to free information and educational resources on solar technologies.
