History

The concept of the Georgia Solar Energy Association (GSEA) was created in the mid 1970s by a group of concerned citizens and incorporated in 2003.  Over the years, GSEA has strived to increase the use of solar and renewable energy resources in the state through public education and outreach.   More recently, GSEA has assisted Southface with the Solar America Initiative (formerly know as the Million Solar Roofs Initiative) in an effort to increase the number of solar installations in the State of Georgia to 500 by 2010.  According to installer reports, this goal has been successfully surpassed.  To learn more about our current activities and how to get involved, refer to the website.
